"The perfect way to plan my trip"
Katy Phillips - Visitor
Just across the river on Ray Mill island is located Boulters Restaurant. Boulter's Restaurant features a bar, food and beautiful views of the River Thames. Ray Mill Island also features a park administered by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The park provides some attractive views, pleasant walks and an Aviary and Guinea Pigs enclosure.
Boulter's Lock was first built by the Thames Navigation Commission in 1772 and is located on the western side of the river between the main (A4094) Maidenhead to Cookham road and Ray Mill Island.
Boulter's weir is located further upstream from the lock, at the northern end of Ray Mill Island. The area around Boulter's Lock is one of the most popular whitewater freestyle kayaking areas on the River Thames, as it enables kayakers to play on it without causing disruption to other river users.
